Atlas Pain Relief Centre opened in 2000 in the centre of Tamworth Staffordshire.
The mission was to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to musculo-skeletal pain and discomfort to people from Tamworth, Staffordshire, Atherstone, Polesworth, Kingsbury, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Swadlincote, Measham, Brownhills,Burton on Trent and Dordon,

Back pain is a high percentage of musculo-skeletal complaints so recruitment of experienced practitioners with acute and chronic back pain was vital. The clinic wanted to offer an alternative to back pain treatment by chiropractors and offer more choice to the public.

Tamworth Osteopath John Williams looked for Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, a Podiatrist / Chiropodist, Acupuncture and Sports Injury practitioners in an attempt to get a blend of practitioners that would compliment the pain relief centre and offer local people a first class service in private healthcare.

The name “Atlas” was chosen as it is the first letter in the alphabet, it is the name of the top bone in the human spine and is classified in anatomical terms as C1 (number 1). Atlas is associated with the global world sphere, the Greek God Atlas and world strongman Charles Atlas. Atlas is indeed the very best name to be associated with our business and in 2000, the Millenium year, Atlas Pain Relief Centre was formed.

Our mission statement was to provide a top class service and build a pain relief business based on honesty, integrity, and customer service. We have achieved this goal by boasting that 60% of our business comes from personal recommendations and the fact that we have been awarded customer service awards at a Birmingham Business Awards presentation for 2 years in succession.

We are well respected in the Industry we work in and work closely with local GP’s (some of whom we treat) and Consultants. We have access to MRI and other imaging within 2 days generally if necessary.

Our Sports Injury Clinic is frequented by top flight sports people such as England Goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton among many others. We specialise in running injuries and have set up a running injury clinic supported by a runners website www.runninginjuryclinic.co.uk we fit custom prescriptive orthotic foot insoles and as you would expect, we feel they are the best on the market.

In 2008 Atlas opened its second Back Pain and Sports Injury Clinic in the Solihull Birmingham area and will be expanding further in the coming years. Treating people from Solihull,Hall Green,Shirley,Olton,Knowle,Dorridge,Hollywood,Cheswick Green,Monkspath,Dickens Heath,Acocks Green,Moseley,Kings Heath and Birmingham,West Midlands
